I'd be inclined to agree from what I've seen of it, it was simply a
possible suggestion as I've had it requested before that we support remote
debugging via gdb. Another thought with regards to a native protocol would
be that it'd ideally be nice if the implementation could be reused by the
kernel debugger in order to allow remote debug of KDLs as well.
