B_TRUNCATE_MIDDLE doesn't seem to work in [http://cgit.haiku-
os.org/haiku/tree/src/preferences/sounds/HEventList.cpp#n58 Sounds]
columns doesn't truncate strings.
Same thing in [http://cgit.haiku-
os.org/haiku/tree/src/apps/devices/PropertyList.cpp#n55 Devices].
However, B_TRUNCATE_MIDDLE in [http://cgit.haiku-
os.org/haiku/tree/src/apps/drivesetup/PartitionList.cpp#n336 DriveSetup]
works.
