Hi,
If you still have the original problem, can you try this:
* open terminal and run tail -f /var/log/syslog
* insert CD
* wait a bit for haiku to try to identify the CD
* copypaste the part of syslog that was printed to terminal during the
process, and attach it here
This would help as the syslog attached here has data from several boots
and I'm not sure which parts are relevant.
