#9037: Default download folder ----------------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: dsjonny | Owner: leavengood Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Applications/WebPositive | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ----------------------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by ddavid123): Web Positive already has a "default" download folder, the /boot/home/Desktop directory. If the default is changed to /boot/home/Downloads, then as luroh said we would have many people asking where their downloads went. So I ask you which is worse, people wondering why Haiku doesn't have a default /boot/home/Downloads directory, or many more wondering why Haiku has eaten their downloads? In my opinion, it is not difficult at all to create a /Downloads directory in the home directory and then tell Webpositive to save the downloads there. People who use Haiku already know how to do these things and probably don't see the lack of a "Downloads" directory a problem. If however enough people see this as an issue, I have a solution. The first time Webpositive atempts to download a file, a smaller window would pop up and give the user an option of where to save the file. Either it would be saved in the /boot/home/Desktop directory or the /boot/home/Downloads directory! Once the option has been selected, all further downloads would be saved there. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/9037#comment:2> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
