There is a thread going on in the ML, //www.freelists.org/post/haiku
/Touchpad-problems. Though this is for a PS2 touchpad.

Mm, unlikely. All it was doing was disk IO and CPU. Wasn't using HID
devices at all during the stalls. I will try again later today/tomorrow if
the merged UCHI fixes have any effect. The problem disappears when running
from the internal SSD; so that alone should be sufficient to point at
 problems in the USB stack.

FWIW, for the longest time, on real hardware, I've always had problems
with the mouse pausing for some time (see #8939). So I suspect this bug
isn't at all new; just exacerbated with XHCI, or high workloads for USB 2.
