 Then this sounds very much like a dying HDD. This occured to me here :
 #5262

 I didn't want to believe it at first, but the conclusion (in this ticket:
 #7783 ) ended up being very clear... These dying HDDs were the only time I
 had those symptoms (corrupted syslog and Tracker settings).

 If I were you I would do a '''backup''' of All Important Files on the
 partitions of that hard-drive right now while there's still time...
