Steps to reproduce:
1. Set Media prefs App for recording from microphone.
2. Click record button on SoundRecorder and start speaking.
Result: A. a pop up notification saying; cannot connect to selected input.
B. There is no sound level indication in the level meter.
3. Click the record button again to stop recording.
4. Click the play button.
Result: No sound is heard.
In Media prefs app, if I uncheck the mute button in playback for the
microphone, with the microphone near the speakers I get immediate
feedback. This indicates the microphone input is been supported by the
driver and it is behaving as expected.
I have not tried as yet another recording source like line input.
