 No, trunk should always work. As siarzhuk pointed out, you update the
 vendor branch first (there you can see what exactly has changed, and would
 then merge this diff to trunk -- fixing all what needs to be fixed. You
 can easily see what changes were necessary by comparing the vendor branch
 with trunk.
