Not sure if this problem is really fixed - at least not for the alpha3
branch. I've tried both r1a3-rc-r41884 and DriveSetup from r41932 (trunk).
My USB stick still can't be initialized - the changes in r41842 that
solved the problems for this USB stick were reverted with r41845.
Moreover, it's not possible to delete and recreate an partition on this
USB stick. Maybe this ticket should be reopened?
