#7199: Booting halted on the 4th icon when a Huawei Mobile USB stick is plugged -------------------------------------+------------------------ Reporter: Karvjorm | Owner: axeld Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: System/Boot Loader | Version: R1/alpha2 Keywords: Boot USB stick Huawei | Blocked By: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All Blocking: | -------------------------------------+------------------------ I'm running VMware image r40352 and booting of Haiku will stop when I have a Huawei mobile internet USB stick plugged to my USB bus. But when I unplug that stick, booting continues and I'm able to plug it again after completed booting process. In the enclosed syslog I have marked with "====" the moment I have unplugged and plugged again (I suppose) that USB stick. This Huawei stick includes 2 USB interfaces, I think. The first one is a usb disk and booting stop occurs obviously because Haiku can't handle it correctly. The second interface is a modem interface. The following popup window is shown: {{{ Haiku - VMware Player Please upgrade your virtual machine to enable high-speed USB 2.0 support for the device "Huawei Removable Disk". An attempt will be made to connect this device to the best available host controller. This may result in an undefined behavior for this device. [] Do not show this hint again [OK] }}} This attempt is succeeded, because the usb disk is shown on the desktop as a "MOBIILIKAISTA" and can be opened (so that windows .exe files etc. are shown). -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/7199> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
