#7060: Force-Identify downloaded files ----------------------------------------+----------------------------- Reporter: humdinger | Owner: stippi Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Applications/WebPositive | Version: R1/Development Keywords: | Blocked By: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All Blocking: | ----------------------------------------+----------------------------- This is r547. Some server don't seem to correctly set the MIME type for downloaded files. You'll end up with some generic file with unknown/unknown or application/forced-download or something.[[BR]] Double-clicking doesn't start e.g. Expander in case of an archive. Actually, I don't know why the system doesn't sniff things out. I mean, there are sniffer rules and even opening according to file extentions would be OK... Anyway, how about Tracker scripting a "force-identify" (see SHIFT+right- click a file) on a downloaded file? -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/7060> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
