 I think the problem is your onboard video card does not support VESA 2.0.
 That is why you do not see the bootloader screen.  I have seen at least
 two others with i810 have the same issue.  Your syslog also shows nothing
 for VESA modes only says VGA.  Do you have a supported (either VESA or
 native driver) PCI or AGP card you can try out?

 Look over this thread for video BIOS upgrade for i815 which may or may not
 work (not sure if it fixes VESA):[[BR]]
