#6085: BFS index issue: Deskbar shelf items don't display after install/reboot. -------------------------------+------------------------------------------- Reporter: mr.Noisy | Owner: axeld Type: bug | Status: reopened Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: | Version: R1/Development Applications/Tracker | Keywords: shelf, settings, index, query Resolution: | Blocking: 6259, 6508 Blocked By: 5367 | Platform: All Has a Patch: 0 | -------------------------------+------------------------------------------- Comment (by axeld): I would find a Tracker automatism misplaced and a bit useless as well. The problem existed on BeOS as well, and it is not restricted at all to copying a Haiku installation -- if you copy your media files to a new partition, you also have to make sure manually, that the respective indices are created. Therefore, I would suggest two solutions: 1) have DriveSetup be able to copy the indices from a source volume, or 2) have FileTypes maintain the indices in the MIME database, and DriveSetup automatically create all of them on new volumes. -- Ticket URL: <http://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/6085#comment:43> Haiku <http://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
