While the "Don't fade when here" option in Screensaver is nice, I agree
that some apps would profit from control over screensaver kick-in (and
related features like energy saving functions, cpu slowing, hd spin-down
etc.). I think there's been a discussion on these issues a while ago and
an API for it was considered for the future.[[BR]]
Meanwhile, should MediaPlayer be hacked to suppress the screensaver, it
shouldn't be another option but the default. It would just have to be a
bit more "intelligent" and only avoid the screensaver when actually
playing a video. If you're idling with a video on pause or at the end of a
video, or you're listening to audio, the screensaver won't be a bother.
