Toward the bottom of the Installation guide at http://www.haiku-os.org
/get-haiku/installation-guide there is the following:
Boot using the CD
You can also use the boot CD to boot into your Haiku installation without
adding it to a boot manager. To do so, __press the space bar__ on your
keyboard as soon as the CD begins to load. This will bring up the boot
loader menu as seen in the following screenshot.
Granted, using the space bar on the Alpha1 is correct behavior, but this
was changed awhile ago. I don't know what the current key to use is. It
will need to be updated for the Alpha2 release.
