In the volume-match scoring code linked in comment 12, the most important
element to the final score is the creation time associated with the root
directory of the volume.
I'm not sure how to retrieve this creation time for an unmounted volume --
I originally thought of stating the device path under /dev/disk/... but
the creation time returned from here is not the same.
