**Hardware:**\\
HP compaq nx7000 laptop\\
1,4GHz Pentium M (celeron)\\
2Gb ram\\
\\
**Issue:**
The system emits no sound for the first few minutes.\\
Discovered first with two different MP4 video files and a Wav file,
subsequent tests were done only with the Wav file.\\
Double clicking the Wav file inmediatly after a cold boot, the file opens
in MediaPlayer and starts to play but with no sound until around 2 and a
half minutes (this is very consistent on several tries). Doing the same
process with VLC gives more or less the same result, same with QMPlay2,
except for one try that took close to 4 minutes of play for the sound to
start.\\
Doing something else (Haikudepot, Web+, opening a folder, or simply moving
a window) while the file is playing causes the progress bar and the play
timer to freeze a few seconds and then advance very fast as if trying to
catch up, and then freeze another few seconds, and accelerates again,
etc.\\
This first minutes the system in general is quite sluggish, Deskbar menus
takes a few seconds to appear and then just shows the outline for a few
more...
Boot drive is a 4Gb partition inside a recently buyed USB2 pendrive, also
tried installing and booting from a partition on internal SSD, wich I
thought will do a dramatic difference, but it just reduced the time it
took to start the sound to about one minute and the general sluggishness
still happened, maybe a bit less.
