My bisect is complete.
hrev54483 building haikuwebkit c49d47d74 **still** has disappearing text.
Thus, the webkit regression was definitely introduced sometime before
c49d47d74 in haikuwebkit.
I'll take a look at the workaround madmax mentioned now
