I'm trying to boot the installer from a USB memory stick on an old IBM
ThinkPad X30. It seems to be hanging on boot, with safe mode and debug
logging enabled it seems to stop after logging this:
{{{
app_server: Finding best mode for 1024x768 (8, 60 Hz, strict) failed
app_server2 Finding best mode for 800x600 (8, 60 Hz) failed
app_server: Use 0x0 (4) instead.
app_server: Failed to set mode: Invalid Argument
vm_page_fault: vm_soft_fault returned error 'Bad address' on fault at 0x0,
ip 0x4210f5, write 0, user 1, thread 0x15c
debug_server: Thread 348 entered the debugger: Segment violation
}}}
It does progress to the point of showing a mouse cursor if I enable safe
graphics mode, however the mouse cursor is unresponsive and it does not
seem to load anything after that.
I did enable the debug logging but it doesn't seem to have written a
different previous_syslog on the boot with safe graphics, so the file I
will attach the log from booting without safe graphics
