I have a logitech MX ergo trackball, i set it from 3 to 5 button, which
then added button 4 and 5 with names "F" and "G"
This is on beta2 hrev64152+110
On a side note, setting my usb mouse to 5 button also set my ps/2 one to 5
buttons (atleast after i had restarted the preference panel)
