 That sounds like a great idea. I'm not sure how easy it is to do at the
 moment without making huge changes to the rest of the API. net_timer() for
 example doesn't capture any state, but for a SocketHolder RAII class we'd
 need to change that API to allow capturing some additional state by value.

 I'll think about it for a bit.
