That's very strange, I do it all the time without issue.

And the minimum image absolutely includes Tracker and Deskbar, not sure
 what you're referring to here.

 When I tried to update from minimal image, Tracker and Deskbar were not
 started. Now I realized that Tracker and Deskbar are included in minimal
 image. They are running if image was clean installed on test USB drive.
