The crash and the logging out should be two separate tickets. Currently,
there's only #13699 about getting logged out of GMail which has more
specific conditions (clicking a link). I cannot find a more generic
ticket, though these issues have been with us for some time...
Maybe /var/logs/syslog has some information for the crash.
