 Why is there no deskbar symlink in the first place?

 Also IIRC HaikuDepot does not rely on deskbar symlinks, but on "app:"
 provides in the package description.

 If there is something to open, the package should declare it. HaikuDepot
 could provide more explicit feedback when there is nothing to open (show
 the button but disable it?).
