Did you check with different settings for font hinting and subpixel?
 They have an impact on this.
 I checked following 6 patterns, and it seems ok.
 * Glyph hinting On  LCD subpixel
 * Glyph hinting Off LCD subpixel
 * Glyph hinting Monospaced fonts only LCD subpixel
 * Glyph hinting On Grayscale
 * Glyph hinting Off Grayscale
 * Glyph hinting Monospaced fonts only Grayscale
