The hassle should be entirely in the implementation, and after that should
be rather minimal, no? Hence why I've listed this as an "enhancement". If
I or someone else gets around to it, great; if not, it's not a major loss.
But even if we do go with it, it shouldn't really increase complexity (but
rather decrease it overall).
