I currently have notifications being archived (in
/boot/home/config/cache/Notifications) and added a "History" tab to the
Notifications preflet that shows a column list view of cached
notifications. I sort of got a preview of an archived notification
working however it was a major hack because the NotificationView is
heavily tied to its AppGroupView parent and the NotificationWindow class
which is actually passed as one of the constructor parameters.
So I'm going to take a break from that for a while and start working on
what I think of as the notification "shelf". This will be another
NotificationWindow where notifications that timeout are placed. Like
other OSs it will live off screen until the user asks for it. Maybe a
deskbar shelf icon? So if you miss any notificiations you can view them
here. Thoughts?
