 That's a compelling possibility, good catch Augustin -- the reason being,
 we run our [https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/8476 own] version of the HDA
 driver (wish I could merge at least some of the changes into Haiku some
 day) and I don't sync the code with "trunk" very often, so it's very
 possible they're running a pre-fix driver, hosted in a more recent Haiku
 hrev.

 Asked them to try to revert to "stock" hda temporarily to test that
 theory, but apparently they're not able/wiling to do so :-/
