I ran configure from the generated directory. I'm fine with it not being
supported, but we should try to have better error reporting, rather than a
confusing failure after managing to build most things. As you can see it
only fails when building packages, so it's actually possible to build many
targets that don't involve packages. This is what made me think it was
supported.
