Next I tried a DVD. Trying to open one of the .vob files resulted in
MediaPlayer appearing in the Deskbar as a running application, but no
video window. After trying to quit MediaPlayer, then unmounting and
ejecting DVD, MediaPlayer continued running (with high CPU loading in
process controller). After 5 or more minutes, I killed it from team
monitor. Syslog2 attached.
