Comment (by anevilyak):

Where I'm somewhat torn on this one is how to present that functionality
in the user interface. The most straightforward option would seem to be
allowing one to right click in an empty part of the view to add an
expression via the context menu, but that would grow problematic with
large numbers of variables, since one then might no longer have an empty
 row to click in.

Another option would be to add a dedicated tab for expressions as we do
registers, but then one wouldn't be able to see the variables and
expressions at the same time, which would be desirable if that expression
is contingent on such a variable. I suppose one could conceivably add menu
items for it to the top level menu, but that wouldn't be very
 discoverable...any thoughts?
