#11272: AVCHD files choppy playback in MediaPlayer ------------------------------------+---------------------------- Reporter: vidrep | Owner: nobody Type: bug | Status: new Priority: normal | Milestone: R1 Component: Audio & Video/Codecs | Version: R1/Development Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Has a Patch: 0 | Platform: All ------------------------------------+---------------------------- Comment (by vidrep): Intel based systems seem to handle this format much better than AMD. I went back to an Intel dual core system this week and I can get smooth playback with some tweaks to thread priority and by reducing window size to 50%. I could never get the AMD Athlon X 2 to do this. Surprisingly, 64 bit Haiku actually fared worse than 32 bit in playing these files despite using a newer ffmpeg version. Question: Are there internal settings in ffmpeg that can be tweaked to better handle HD formats, rather than leaving it up to the end user to play with Process Controller settings? -- Ticket URL: <https://dev.haiku-os.org/ticket/11272#comment:5> Haiku <https://dev.haiku-os.org> Haiku - the operating system.
