 Thanks anevilyak for the note, I wasn't aware & will do.

 However I don't think all is well with ftpd.  After launching ftpd -D, I
 can "put" a file and then "ls" doesn't see it.  Isn't this a bug?  (Or
 fixed since hrev46164?)  C.f.:
