I've tested it, and it works. I've commited it to the repository as 
well, so that the app_server should now work again.

If it helps you, I can give you a list of what I've seen with it:
1) window titles are not affected
2) MiniTerminal draws no text at all until I cover it (even partially) 
the first time with something else, ie. the screen border (still moving 
windows is painfully slow over here and, even worse grabs the mouse 
pointer and hangs until all events were processed :-/)
3) After I covered MiniTerminal, text starts to be drawn, but some 
glyphs are missing, I've no idea what's the pattern, but it always 
seems to be "i" and "t" and some others
4) the Playground app or R5's People app doesn't seem to be affected at 
all
