Simple: registrar and a few other components locate apps by signature
by doing a BFS query. Ergo, if multiple copies of the app are present,
all of them will be in the index under that signature, and, owing to
the fact that they have exactly the same sorting order, which one you
get back is pretty much random. So, anything that locates by signature
is in no way guaranteed to find the one you want if you have several
copies of the same app installed/present on your disks in some way.
