Not much is needed to make a yagi antenna.

- Wire
- a boom of suitable length
- a connector
- a little bit of coax to connect the connector to the antenna

We have connectors, coax and scrap wood at the shop. The scrap wood
might need to be cut up some to make suitable pieces.

We have some steel wire, but solid copper wire ( I've split the wires
out of this stuff before: http://tinyurl.com/39u3csg ) would be
better. The wire just needs to be solid and thick enough to support
its own length.

The steel wire is 18 gauge and seems to hold its shape for 440 MHz /
70cm antennas. If anyone wants to make 144 MHz / 2m antennas, I think
we'll need thicker wire, like the 12 gauge wire I linked.

We might need to order some coax cables with suitable connectors so
you connect your radio to the antenna. Those aren't hard to get, and
we should be able to find those at the upcoming ham fest.

Chris: If you want to make a 'nicer' antenna out of copper wire, bring
some up to the shop. You don't need very much, and I'll split the
cost of it with you since I need some as well. Twenty five feet of
two conductor wire is enough to make 8 or 9 antennas.
