I'm just suggesting it as an option. One can also change most (many?
all?) mail clients to not download attachments or to read email as
text-only. This probably means switching from POP3 to IMAP as the
former doesn't support partial downloads, but if you're on a metered
connection you should already do this due to spam attachments.
That being said.
Mobile phones and their operating systems and applications were not
designed to support the sort of email we've used from desktops and
laptops since POTUS Reagan. Yes, my Google Pixel probably has more
MFLOPS than my SGI Indy, but it's still a lousy device for email.
