Apple is one of those control freak companies.
recently they took the decision to remove earphone connector from
their mobile phone. They claim with wireless headphone(They dont want
to say Bluetooth, they want to prefix everything with 'i') better for
the users. The 'useless' earphone connector makes the 'iPhones' ugly.
The fact of the matter is that they want more control. The traditional
earphone gives analog data out. It can be connected to other devices
like amplifier, recorders etc without any difficulty. Protocol is
open, any one can connect. With digital connection, they can control
to ensure that their iDevice talk to only iEarphone..
