I need a brake lever from an old 10-speed (at least ten years old, as newer
bikes don't have the part I need). Does anyone have an old junker in the
garage that they could give me for salvaging this part? I'm looking for a
bike with the bent over handlebars. In the newer style brake levers, the
cable is strung underneath the cloth tape that wraps around the bar. I'm
looking for the older style (which stores don't carry anymore) in which the
cable loops off the top of the brake lever in the air (and is not wrapped
under the cloth tape). I can get a used one at Bikes Not Bombs in JP, but
I'm hoping to save the trip if somebody has a junker they don't want. I'd
take it off your hands.
