All,
I prepared this short “explainer” on Jupyter to share with my colleagues. (I’ll
give an overview at our next faculty meeting.) I thought you might like to have
a look.

Maybe I will add a few examples of courses/books/lessons written with Jupyter.

Hello all - Just wanted to spread the word about a few upcoming events.
1. Thanks to the hard work of Lorena Barba GW is lucky enough to be hosting
a Jupyter Regional Conference on May 15th in Marvin Center. We are still
signing the final contract so once complete I'll send out more information,
but it will be similar to the linked event below in Boston.
https://conferences.oreilly.com/jupyter/popup-ma ;
<https://conferences.oreilly.com/jupyter/popup-ma>
2. We are hosting a Meetup on Quantum Computing next Thursday evening for
all those interested, details here:
https://www.meetup.com/GWU-Data-Science/events/248759127/ ;
<https://www.meetup.com/GWU-Data-Science/events/248759127/>
----Also along these same lines this is actually GW's data science meetup
so if you like please become a member and encourage others to join, its
free. I'm the owner of the group and would be happy to create meetup events
for anyone interested in sharing their research, just let me know. I can
also share any topics with the larger community of about 30k members.
3. April 12th there is a Blockchain event here at GW thanks to the efforts
of Tom Russo and Neil Wasserman, details below.

4. We've set the date for this year's DataCon, the website is below, please
again feel free to share the news and try to attend. Also, we will be
accepting papers this year, once that information is finalized I'll shoot
that out. Finally, if you are interested in potentially presenting your
research just let me know as we are still finalizing the agenda.

Hopefully all these activities we continue to work toward creating a vibrant
ecosystem of Data related activities on GW campus.
Lastly - I'm going to switch our Listserv to an outside organization
freelists.org <//freelists.org/>. It's a non-profit that doesn't use
our information or content for marketing or sales purposes. They provide
quite a good bit of additional flexibility than the internal listserv, so
please join, the information is below. I'll send emails out to both lists
for a couple of months then switch fully over to gw_dsi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
<mailto:gw_dsi@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> heading into the Fall.
- Subscribers can join your list by sending email to
gw_dsi-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:gw_dsi-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> with
'subscribe' in the Subject field OR by
visiting your list page at //www.freelists.org/list/gw_dsi ;
<//www.freelists.org/list/gw_dsi>.
Thanks!!!
