George, if I'm not mistaken, freeware PDF creators print a bitmapped document
to a file. One has to use virtual printing with OCR to get anything out of
them.

The finance department were I work was sending documents all over the place in
bitmapped PDF's. I pointed out to them that they were an inaccessible, and
more important, they could not be searched. Obviously, if someone was looking
for contact or billing material, they would have to read entire documents from
the screen or from printouts to find anything. They certainly were surprised
to discover that they also could not cut and paste boilerplate material.

Try Google.com - there are quite a few free ones.

Subject: [guispeak] making PDF documents

Hi,

Could someone tell me what software do I need to make PDF
documents? I'm not sure you can do this with adobe or not
but I want something where it would be easy to make these
documents.
