Monte, I still have the original Symb-something or other card with its parallel port type plug, and the cable to go with it. I had a ton of trouble trying to get that old card recognized by ME, so I turned to the Adaptec 2940, which I got very cheap. The cable was a bit of a challenge to find, but I found 2, one for a friend and one for me. I found the proper drivers on the HP site and I was off. So I have my wonderful old 4 C, running on an old Dell, while I have a new Epson running on this XP machine. Are you using the original cable that came with the scanner? Which OS? Thanks, Monte. Geoff Eden wrote: > Debra, I have an HP 4C here connected with that cable to an Adaptec > 2940.
