Hi Denis, It doesn't matter where it is extracted to, so long as you can find the extracted files in order to install it. Some versions of Winzip will not only extract the files, but will also run any installer it finds amongst them. If Winsockfix worked, allowed you to send your messages, and then the system failed when you re-ran OE, it sure does suggest that something is screwing up your system. But just what, is the $64,000 question. George. -----Original Message----- From: guispeak@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:guispeak@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Denis Sent: 28 November 2004 14:21 To: guispeak@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guispeak] Re: Some more silly stuff Hello George, Thanks for the link. I downloaded and ran the program, It said it detected win98, fixed something and rebooted the machine. I opened OE, and to my delight it sent 4 messages in a row, but it was too early to triumph, because when I close OE and opened it again, things got back to what they were. The instruction says: >2.) UnZip WinsockFix.zip (Pay close attention to where >the file is extracted to.) So Where does it have to be extracted. Seems like it doesn't matter what folder you run winsockfix.exe from. Or does it?
