Steph, I know another guide dog owner in my area who is totally blind and also has a hearing impairment. She takes her guide dog and a retired guide dog for a run and lets them go. She manages by having a much more orderly dog than I've got, and she keeps track of the dogs by attaching bells to them. They sound like a herd of goats wandering about! Evidently the bells are shrill enough for the owner to hear them OK.
