Pam, My mutt gets a worming pill once every 3 months and supposedly gets an Advocate flea, tick and lungworm treatment every month, though I must admit I've been quite lax about those in the winter. He has had monthly flea treatments in spring and summer, though. I don't like it much, and nor does my dog, who looks around at me most offended when I've poured this tack down the back of his neck, but I keep in mind that he could easily pick up ticks on the land around me, and that would be horrible. I picked them up myself camping in Ireland! At that time, a dab of meths and the pull of the tweezers was the cure.
