Good evening all. I love all this talk of the old days and yes of course you
guessed it. The old sweets are my favourite part of this discussion
hahahehehehehehe. Well I remember all those sweets mentioned and I liked those
chocolate caramels I think they were called merrymaids and those penny sweets
as well as those square caramels without chocolate coating but can't remember
now what they were called. There's actually a website where you can buy old
fashioned sweets so here it is in case you haven't heard of it.
www.aquarterof.com even though I haven't actually brought any sweets from there
I had lots of fun listening to what they had available and as you can imagine
did lots of dreaming about all those yummy goodies I would buy if I did. I
would run up a big bill for sure as there's so much choice a big whole in the
pocket but of course well worth it I would be in my element. Well as for the
games I remember most of them but of course a lot of this old talk is way
before my time hahahehehehehe. Oh dear Carol you are now showing your age for
sure hahahehehehehe. Well as I'm blind from birth I never had comics so one of
those pleasures I missed out on. I always had the specially adapted games from
the R N I B such as snakes and ladders, ludo and dominoes and still have those
games to this day. Oh yes and connect 4 and a few other games too. I used to
have hours of fun playing them with my grandparents. I was always a their house
when I was little. I never played outside with other kids like my sighted twin
sister Elaine did. Now I hope to play my special games with my nephew and niece
when they are old enough but won't be long now as Jamie is 5 and Meghan is 3 so
they will soon be able to understand the games to play them we will have hours
of fun for sure I can't wait. Oh yes my granddad taught me to play dominoes 5's
and 3's was our favourite game and to this day it's still my favourite domino
game. Sadly both my grandparents are dead and I miss them so much as we were
very close but I have lots of lovely memories of them I will treasure forever.
Chat again soon. Love Clare xxxxxx
