Oh Sarah that would be a dream come true for you for sure you would be in your element especially with your own personal chef who had pinchable cheeks ah how lovely. Yes dining in the dark would be such an interesting experience I would love to find out how sighted people cope with eating in this situation. I often say I would love to blindfold sighted people and make them do the everyday tasks we have to do and find out how they would like being blind. Maybe then they wouldn't be so ignorant and so quick to judge. Yes Sarah I find it so annoying that we can't do what we want when we want without having to rely on others my jewellery course at the community centre being an example. My mum would go with me if the course was on Thursday afternoons instead of mornings as she doesn't work afternoons and she loves craft as much as I do so would be ideal. I actually told the centre that I could get in the afternoons but sadly they wouldn't change it for me. OH dear. No surprise there. Oh well at least I tried. Yes Sarah like you I would love to do a cooking course and independent living skills course so maybe I should ask at my blind society if they have anything. Yes things like gigs or holidays where we need carers with us they seem to charge the earth for us in fact I feel we get exploited because of our situation as it's not right we should get charged so much more. I know we have to pay so much for our carers but they charge way too much. It's the same with equipment that's adapted for us I know we have to pay more but again I feel they charge too much although I know it's well worth it for us and we wouldn't be without our technology it's such a lifeline. Yes I love to have people describe things to me when I'm out and I love to touch things if I'm able to so I get a better idea of what they are describing to me and statues are good to touch for sure. My favourite outing has been to Cadbury's world of course my ideal day out I was in chocolate heaven for sure as you can imagine. I also enjoyed Lincoln Cathedral as I was able to touch the carvings and there was also lots of braille info to read too which was amazing I was so impressed as it's not often places are adapted so well for us totally blind people. I also enjoyed this place called Doddington Hall which is a stately home near Lincoln. There's such a lot to touch in the house and braille although the sensory garden was a bit of a letdown though which was a shame as I was so looking forward to smelling all the lovely herbs and flowers. The cafe was the best part for me of course goes without saying. I also enjoy tenpin bowling it's a shame I don't get often but a treat when I do. I also enjoy cinema, theatre and concerts another lovely treat when I get chance to go. Oh if only I could find my very own dancing prince and have my own chocolate factory. OH we can all dream can't we? Sarah like you I imagine having my very own dancing prince in the same way you imagine having your own chef. Well it's so cool how we can talk to each other on here about anything and everything knowing we are all in the same boat which is such a comfort. It's also a comfort knowing we can all talk in confidence and what we say will go no further than this list. Love Clare xxxxxx
