Mince Pies Ingredients: mince meat 250 G plain flour a pinch of salt 125 G fat, lard or margarine or a mixture of all 5 tablespoons cold water Method: 1. Put oven on to warm on gas mark 6, 200 degrees Celsius. 2. Sieve flour and salt into a bowl. 3. Cut fat into pieces and add to the flour, rub-in with fingertips until the mixture is like breadcrumbs. 4. Add water a little bit at a time, stop when pastry sticks together. 5. Sprinkle flour on work surface and roll out pastry. 6. Cut out twelve rounds, place in bun tins. 7. Add 1 teaspoon of mincemeat to each round. 8. Cut out 12 smaller rounds or shapes and place on top of mincemeat. 9. Brush with milk. Place in oven for 15-20 minutes. 10. Take out when light brown, place on cooling rack and sieve icing sugar over the tops.
