I was in my friends house at the time.
We were just remembering September 11, 1997, when Scotland voted YES to
reconvene the Parliament after three centuries, and were excited at the
prospect that this would lead to independence in time, when the news broke.
We simply stared at each other, listening as first one, then the second tower
fell.
We didn't really say anything.
Just prayed quietly.

Good afternoon all
on september 11th of the plane attack of the terrist that day
I was in my bed sit in Doctor piggott lodge in blackley manchester
I was sitting on my settee drinking mug of tea on phone to my mum when heard
all screams on my tv I had on
My mum just shouted oh no oh my god carol go and listen to your tv quick
I put phone down started listening to dreadful news oh was so upset started
crying our manager asked us all on intercom if we all alright
she got us all in dining room for cuppa and cake we all chatted about it all
day in dining room
then mum phoned me at that time asked me if i wanted to stay at her house for
the night
so taxi was booked for me
I was so happy to be close to my mum in her house that day
awful day it was
