I used to hitch with a trucker friend of mine. The film 'convoy' was only slightly exaggerated. Conversation ( on an A.M. rig, naturally ) went as follows "Hey, earwiggers, brush your teeth and comb your hair; there's a jam sandwich on the super slab taking pictures. Don't bump into naked bears out there" So who needs Klingon? -----Original Message----- From: vanessa - Email Address: qwerty1234567a@xxxxxxxxx Sent On: 20/06/2012 10:27 Sent To: GUIDE CHAT - Email Address: guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guide.chat] In Reply To: [guide.chat] c bs are still going C Bs are still strong, doubt truckers will give them up, they notify each other of papa bears etcetera, when driving in my car with my friend, she was winding them up and this huge vehicle slowed down in front of me, forcing me to go slower, there was another one behind me and another on the side of me and scared the living daylights out of me by forcing my car onto the layby, we were well and truly boxed in, kept the windows up and doors were locked, they soon scarpered as a police car approached, two policemen asked if we were okay, fine officer i said, but deep down i was scared and kept well away from trucks and kept my aerial in the boot when with my friend, in i a spoilsport, but let her use c b when we were on those paper trails and find the clues as to where to go those games were fun with my friend. vanessa. -----Original Message----- From: Dazzling Darren - Email Address: darren.sunjay72@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent On: 19/06/2012 12:02 Sent To: james.liddell2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, missbossyboots33@xxxxxxxxx, guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Email Address: james.liddell2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, missbossyboots33@xxxxxxxxx, guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guide.chat] In Reply To: [guide.chat] In Reply To: [guide.chat] To Daft Jim Hi Good Buddy, u got your ears on? Great shame that mobiles more or less killed off the CB. The mobile only gives you 1 to 1 contact whereas the good old CB could let you have a chat with more than one user. Great shame as so much free fun to use. Darren. -----Original Message----- From: James Liddell - Email Address: james.liddell2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent On: 19/06/2012 11:54 Sent To: Carol O'Connor, guide chat - Email Address: missbossyboots33@xxxxxxxxx, guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guide.chat] In Reply To: [guide.chat] To Daft Jim Don't tell me you haven't heard of CB radio ( Citizens Band Radio ) made legal in the UK in 1981....though some users ( cough, cough,) were using illegal equipment before, during and afterward? It was a cheap kind of amateur radio - though sometimes the radio hams got jealous 'cos we got better contacts than they did! It originated in the States, where, to avoid the police detecting them, users evolved a 'language' of their own, which sounded weird to those who didn't know it. Some of it spread this side of the pond as well. You must have heard/seen the films Smokey and the Bandit, or Convoy? A lot of that stuff was, in fact, based on truth! Here in the UK, there were many blind and disabled users - or 'breakers' as the CB lingo used the word for users. I finally went silent key - stopped using CB about six years ago when mobile phones made them a bit obsolete. A lot of truckers still use them, though. -----Original Message----- From: Carol O'Connor - Email Address: missbossyboots33@xxxxxxxxx Sent On: 19/06/2012 11:01 Sent To: guide chat - Email Address: guide.chat@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [guide.chat] To Daft Jim Hi Jim doing this email while waiting for my carer she has left in the car from her house so got time to do email Jim what is a cb? never heard of them is it a free view? please explane have nice day Love Carol xxxx ----- No virus found in this message.
